NNIT Builds a Thriving Boomi Practice for Hybrid Integration

Danish IT consulting firm with 35 Boomi developers on staff helps clients accelerate their digital transformations while incorporating best-of-breed cloud applications across hybrid IT environments.

When Mikkel Iversen first met Boomi, it was, he says, “love at first sight.”

Iversen is director of cloud and integration at NNIT, a Copenhagen-based consulting firm that specializes in IT development, implementation, and operations. His initial meeting with Boomi came in 2016, when NNIT was asked to help a client evaluate competing integration technologies. The client needed an integration approach to connect its legacy SAP on-premises system with a new Salesforce application in the cloud. One approach they asked Iversen to review was Boomi’s.

Although the client ultimately decided to stick with its existing SAP middleware, Iversen remembers being “blown away” by Boomi’s capabilities. “I realized it was something completely different from the integration technologies I’d worked with previously,” he adds.

For Iversen, this initial evaluation exercise triggered what would later become a thriving partnership between NNIT and Boomi, a Dell Technologies business.

‘BEST IPAAS ON THE MARKET’

Sometime after that initial meeting, when Iversen asked Boomi to explore a potential partnership, he had the company’s attention. NNIT, founded in 1994, has since grown to a staff of 3,300 professionals, about half of whom work in Denmark, with the other half in offices across Europe, Asia, and the United States. The company, now publicly traded, serves more than 400 clients, and its 2018 revenue was 3 billion Danish krone (about $443 million).

NNIT’s partnership with Boomi became official just two years ago. A lot has happened since then. NNIT is now also a Boomi reseller, implementation and managed-services partner. The company now also has 35 Boomi developers on staff, helping clients to improve their business speed, agility, and outcomes by connecting data and applications across hybrid IT environments.

What’s more, NNIT’s integration business with Boomi is growing faster than its business with more traditional integration platform as a service (iPaaS) vendors, according to Iversen.

“There’s definitely more growth with Boomi than any other integration vendor we’ve partnered with,” he says. “Boomi has a very strong name in Denmark and beyond. Really, it comes down to Boomi being the best iPaaS on the market.”
